Activity duration indicates the days from an activity's target deadline to the project deadline.

DPD is based on the common approach of the so-called “retro-counting” where the last project milestone appears on top respectively with 0 value in the DPD column i.e. zero days to the project deadline, or in other words – the project’s deadline and the target deadline of the last milestone coincide. Conversely, the first milestone, the one at the bottom of the milestones list, shows the number of days you need to complete the project.

Note: When you change a milestone’s DPD, the system will automatically adjust the target deadline for the milestone and vice versa.

Tip: It’s recommended to use DPD in process templates for projects where you know from experience how many days before the project’s deadline a milestone must be executed.
