What is task estimation?

Task estimation is the prediction of how much time (in hours) will be required to complete a specific task. This process is essential for project planning, setting realistic deadlines, and managing expectations.

Note: Time estimates for task completion can only be set on tasks where you are the owner.

Benefits of task estimation

  • Resource аllocation: Accurate estimations help allocate resources (such as time, manpower, and budget) effectively.

  • Project planning: Estimations are the foundation for project planning, including setting activities and deadlines.

  • Risk аssessment: It allows project managers to identify potential risks and plan for contingencies.

  • Client еxpectation management: Realistic estimations help manage client or stakeholder expectations.
