An Engine of the “Culture of Possible”
The Remind me feature is a tool that reinforces the system's “Culture of Possible”. It helps you turn your initial plan into an action plan, track your original plans, and see how they change to reflect the dynamics of reality.
Reminders lets you start parallel, dynamic planning based on activities’ actionability, so you don’t have to rearrange all your initial plans after every single deviation or delay.
Understanding reminders
Initial plans and Action plans
What’s the difference between your Initial plan and your Action plan?
In the initial plan, you plan and list all activities with desirable target deadlines – say from one to 99 -- that are going to make your project. And in your action plan, you plan only the actionable activities from your initial plan or the ones that could be executed immediately and do not depend on the execution of some others. When you work with two plans, you can always compare them and have a real-time picture of where you are at all times.
Turning Initial plans into perfectly prioritized Action plans
When you set a reminder for an activity, it ends up in My Reminders hub. In doing so, you gather all actionable and dynamically planned activities (those with a reminder) from your initial plan and arrange them in the hub by the date they are planned for. So, instead of visiting numerous projects, one by one, to find out what you have to do “today”, you have in front of you a ready-to-go action plan telling you what should be done “today”, “tomorrow”, and so on. Furthermore, everything in your plan is immediately actionable. See How to set reminders.
