Dependency fundamentals

Dependency is a feature that automatically reminds you when an activity becomes actionable and you need to take action.

The logic behind dependencies in the system follows the Dynamic Planning Methodology and automates the setting of reminders when an activity becomes actionable and you need to do something about it, for example, to assign a task.

Dependencies facilitate the automation of the project planning process in the system. When you complete an activity, the system will automatically remind you about the earliest possible date on which you can start working on the respective dependent activity.

Note: Project Managers can manually change the reminder date.

It’s worth noting that sometimes an activity can be dependent on several earlier activities. And vice versa. The completion of one activity can activate several following activities. Alternatively, the completion of several activities can activate the one dependent activity.
